THE STILL POINT - SILENCE OF THE MIND 11-13 March 2011
11/03/2011 - 13/03/2011This retreat is recommended for those who wish to explore the power of silence.
Silence is not the absence of thoughts, but it is a state in which the mind is engaged in positive thoughts to bring a deep sense of satisfaction to the Soul - that inner point of spirituality and goodness in each one of us. Much of the action in this world is based in reaction and what the world is calling for is action born from reflection.
The theme of this weekend is that the seeds of the actions we take in the outer world are first germinated in the inner world. The aim is not to stop thinking but to become more aware of the quality of thoughts and to use the mind to experience these thoughts. The power of silence nurtures inner values and enhances mental and spiritual powers.
There will be workshops using the process of Raja Yoga Meditation.
Arrival from 4pm onwards, meditation at 7pm, dinner at 7.30pm and session 1 at 8.30pm

05/08/2011 - 07/08/2011THIS RETREAT IS NOW CLOSED FOR BOOKINGS
This retreat will explore the art of living in the present. It is said that the past is history, the future a mystery and this moment in time a gift; this is why it is called the present. Holding on can affect our health and how we live, love and see the world. The art of letting go will use a workbook for self-reflection and learning, as well as meditation practice as an exploratory tool for positive inquiry to accept the past, transform the present and together co-create a more dynamic and vital future.
Facilitators: Christine Mahoney: Christine is a professional actor who for the past 20 years has synthesised, and merged, her background in the performing arts with her advanced skills in training, consultancy and organisational development. Designing and facilitating boutique workshops, Christine works on specific needs associated with people development, and the resolution of human issues within the workplace.
Niall Fenix: Niall is a high-energy trainer and creative facilitator, whose skill lies in his ability to guide workshop participants through engaging and breakthrough learning opportunities. His post-graduate studies and experience in conflict transformation have also allowed him to make a unique contribution to the work he does within organisations. As a facilitator/trainer and long time composer/musician, Niall has an understanding of the creative process, and brings these insights into his workshops.
Both Christine and Niall have been practicing students of Meditation for more than 25 years.
