A World’s Eye View - Ice, Fire and Fairies
23/02/2012 19:00 - 20:30An Icelandic Perspective from Thor Barddal and Sigrun Olsen.
An island of extremes, Iceland has a character of its own. Famous for its hot springs, geysers and active volcanoes, dark winter days and bright summer nights, Icelanders adapt to the often hostile environment with courage and perseverance. Icelanders are optimistic, peace-loving people. It is a land of adventure, where fairies are considered to be part of the nation and respected as such.
As spiritual seekers all their life, speakers Sigrun Olsen and Thor Barddal finally found what they had been searching for when they came across the Brahma Kumaris in 1997. As a couple, they exemplify unity and harmony in action and together they coordinate the activities of the Brahma Kumaris in Iceland. As professional artists, their aim is to contribute to the creation of a better world by helping others to have self-realisation through the medium of art and meditation.
