The Background
Men constitute half the world’s population;
we own most of the world’s wealth and occupy most of the official
positions of power and authority, globally, nationally and locally.
Consequently, we are playing a major role in the world -
environmentally, politically, economically and socially. At this moment
in time, our creation is getting out of hand and we are facing the many
consequences of living in a highly competitive and materialistic
culture where traditional roles and lifestyles are rapidly changing.
- Loneliness
- Compulsive competition
- Lifelong emotional timidity.
It is with the above in mind that the Brahma Kumaris created Spirituality and Men (SAM) in 1999.
The Vision
By
encouraging men of all cultures, faiths and backgrounds to come
together as brothers to explore, deepen, share and enjoy the inner
spirit, we will break down the barriers that exist within and between
us and so help create a more peaceful, just and loving world.
By going beyond the boundaries of race, class, gender and religion, we will create a powerful and positive atmosphere in which we will realise that we have the inner power to help heal the world.
