How I think about myself and how I use my mind immediately affects my relationship both with myself and others. Trust, love, respect, understanding, and good communication characterize any good relationship. Am I my own good friend and companion?
Thoughts are like seeds. Loving and happy thoughts produce beautiful flowers and nourishing fruits; or thoughts can be spiteful and depressed, producing painful brambles or poisonous weeds. We can master our life by producing those ‘fruits’ which are wholesome, attractive and nourishing, and which give us the most happiness and contentment.

Addictions are not merely a dependency on physical things we consume but may include virtually anything-such abstract things like gambling to seemingly harmless products like chocolate.
Addiction may reach a point which is harmful and lead to negative feelings of guilt, shame,!anxiety, despair or even humiliation. Such a person will find it difficult to!cope with daily life. Come and understand about addictions and how to overcome them.
Programme Facilitator Geeta Amin has been practicing Raja Yoga for the past 15 years. You Think What You Eat!

If we are what we eat then the fast food industry would create fast people…and some would say it has! While modern science tends to take a technician’s approach and see the molecules, chemical compounds and nutrients that feed the body, a more spiritual, holistic perspective focuses on how the energy in food can touch, heal and sustain the soul as well.
In this evening’s talk Charoo Maroo will explore how the food we eat has a subtle effect on the mind and how the consciousness of the person cooking affects both the food and also those who eat it.
Speaker: Charoo Maroo graduated in 1972 from the Chelsea School of Pharmacy, and worked as a pharmacist both in hospitals and the community until her retirement in 2007. She has been a student and teacher of Raja Yoga meditation for the past 34 years and feels that spirituality has brought her true peace and happiness. Charoo developed an interest in cooking during her university days which has continued till now. With the added dimension of spirituality, she loves to apply the concepts of mind and food in her daily life and to share this with others.

A Brahma Kumaris é uma organização sem fins lucrativos. O valor mínimo sugerido de contribuição para ressarcimento das despesas de alimentação e hospedagem é de R$ 170,00 por pessoa por fim de semana e de R$ 140,00 para quem não se hospeda no centro de retiros Vila Serra Serena. Todos os participantes terão as refeições no retiro, café da manhã, almoço, jantar e frutas nos intervalos. Não há necessidade de pagamento antecipado ou depósito.
O início do retiro é no sábado é às 9h00 e término no domingo, às 13 horas com o almoço. Aqueles que puderem, são bem vindos chegar na sexta-feira , de 17h às 20 horas. Na sexta-feira à noite não há programação. O jantar de sexta-feira é servido de 19h30 às 20h30. O portão do sítio fecha às 21h.

Orientações gerais sobre os retiros:
- Nos intervalos haverá oportunidades para reflexão, descanso, contato com a natureza do local e a integração entre os participantes.
- Durante os retiros, são servidas todas as refeições: café da manhã, almoço/jantar, além dos lanches durante os intervalos.
- A alimentação servida é lacto - vegetariana.
- Não é permitido fumar e ingerir bebidas alcoólicas no local.

About the Speaker: Geoff Marlow is a management consultant, leadership coach and executive mentor with over 25 years professional experience across a broad spectrum of industries in Europe, the USA and Asia. He specializes in helping people free themselves and others from self-limitation. Geoff has been a student and teacher with the Brahma Kumaris since 1990 and regularly conducts BK hosted workshops, seminars and lectures around the world.

Dr Beverley Crooks is an educationalist, researcher and Living Values Trainer. She has published widely on education and community. Beverley is a former Ofsted Inspector.

How I think about myself and how I use my mind immediately affects my relationship both with myself and others. Trust, love, respect, understanding, and good communication characterise any good relationship. Am I my own good friend and companion?
Thoughts are like seeds. Loving and happy thoughts produce beautiful flowers and nourishing fruits; or thoughts can be spiteful and depressed, producing painful brambles or poisonous weeds. We can master our life by producing those ‘fruits’ which are wholesome, attractive and nourishing, and which give us the most happiness and contentment.
Programme Facilitator Geeta Amin has been practicing Raja Yoga for thepast 15 years. She coordinates a subcentreat Hounslow, outside London and also regularly presents or cofacilitates workshops in PositiveThinking, Anger Management and Women’s self-esteem workshops including ‘The Four Facesof Woman’. It can be very easy to get caught up in wishing our health issues would somehow be resolved, but how willing would we be to do what it takes to return to wellness and to maintain it? Becoming well and staying well on all levels can be an illusive pursuit for many. Just how much of this can be governed by the mind and how much are we bound by the circumstances of our life and the world around us?
Presenter: Dr. Raksha Balbadhur, who graduated in medicine in South Africa, began her spiritual journey with the Brahma Kumaris at the age of 21. She learned to balance her life as a doctor with the practice of meditation and spiritual study. Raksha has conducted workshops and retreats over a number of years for healthcare professionals, specialising in the Brahma Kumaris Values in Healthcare program. She has also conducted workshops using the Living with Dignity and Hope program which supports people living with severe illness.

As healthcare professionals, many of us tend to place ourselves at the end of receiving any care. Our work is our passion, but when exhaustion and depletion of our inner resources set in, it can lead to stress and burnout. This weekend is about taking time to care for ourselves and is aimed at providing an environment where we will be nurtured physically, mentally and spiritually.
