INGREDIENTS
Olive oil
Handful of fresh or dried basil
Handful of fresh or dried oregano
Pinch or two of hing
1/2 tbsp. of cinnamon.
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
One box pomi strained tomatoes
1 green pepper
3/4 cup TVP (texturized vegetable protein located at health food stores)
1 tsp. sugar
3 cups bowtie pasta
DIRECTIONS
- Pour of olive oil into stir fry pan.
- Add in fresh or dried basil, and oregano. If adding dried herbs, rub them
with your palms to release the fragrance as you sprinkle them in the pan. - Add hing, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Add in strained tomatoes, 1 1/4 cup water and green pepper. Let it cook on medium for ten minutes.
- Then add 3/4 cup of TVP and let it cook on low for another 20 minutes.
- Check seasoning. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- If consistency is too thick, just add some water.
- Add a tsp. of sugar and any more of the basil, oregano, or cinnamon you think
necessary. - Once sauce has been on the stove for 30-35 minutes, drain the bowtie pasta and
add it to sauce. - Sprinkle with parmesan and serve.
